There's been a failed military coup in Turkey. As a result, there have been many civilian deaths.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seems to be a problematic leader who has implemented authoritarian policies and been accused of corruption, but the citizens have chosen to support him. His position is reminiscent of Saddam Hussein's during the Gulf War. It seems that in current-day Islamic society, love(=freedom) and peace cannot co-exist, and one must choose between freedom during war or peace under tyranny.
I customized this U.S. military wool shirt from the Korean War by sewing on patches. On the front, I added a patch that says 'love', the symbol of freedom. On the back, I sewed a Death God, representing the tyranny that is a necessary evil for maintaining peace.
